Financial Adviser Exam Dates 2026–2027: Sittings, Booking and Results

As at 12 October 2026, ASIC's booking page lists the next financial adviser exam on Thursday 5 November 2026, with booking closing at 5pm AEDT on Friday 16 October 2026. ASIC lists four sittings for 2027, all marked indicative.

Next sitting: 5 November 2026

• Booking opened on 24 September 2026 and closes at 5pm AEDT on Friday 16 October 2026; payment must be made by midnight AEDT the same day.
• Applications for reasonable adjustments also close at 5pm AEDT on 16 October 2026.
• Schedule your proctored session through your ACER registration by 2 November 2026. ACER says you cannot schedule on exam day, and ProctorU charges extra for bookings made within 72 hours of the test.
• Results come four to five weeks after the exam, so around early to mid December 2026. ASIC gives no exact date.

2026 and 2027 sittings

The pattern is four sittings a year, in March, June, August and November, each with a booking window of about three weeks that closes two to three weeks before the exam. Our exam schedule counts down to the next one.

How booking works

• Anyone can book: ASIC dropped exam eligibility numbers in 2024. The who must sit guide explains who has to pass and by when.
• You register with ACER during the booking window and pay the A$1,500 fee to ASIC by Visa or Mastercard (see what the exam costs).
• Since August 2026 you schedule your ProctorU session inside your ACER registration, with no separate ProctorU login.
• ACER releases admission tickets about five business days before the exam.

Choosing a sitting

If you are a new entrant, work back from your professional year: you must pass before you start its third quarter. Also leave room for a resit. Results take four to five weeks, so if you sit in November 2026 and don't pass, the indicative March 2027 window (29 January to 19 February) is the next realistic chance.
